On 1 April 1887 Henry Ellis was apprenticed as a Boot Rivetter to Harry Walker & Son, Boot & Shoe Manufacturers, 102 West Street, Leeds. He later had his own Boot Repairing Shop at Woodlesford, nr Leeds. He died of Diabetes in approx. 1919 or 1920 and was buried at Oulton Cemetry (nr Leeds) where his wife was subsequently buried with him in approx. 1948. (The apprenticeship deeds are with the Family Photographs). (notes from Fred Ellis Jr) At the time of the 1881 Census, Henry Ellis was 9 yrs old and still at school. |
